Home Theater System Components

You hear that series of words come up almost daily now and for every person the components that make up a home theater system may differ a little bit. The one thing they do not differ on, however, is that whatever components are put together they’re put together to create an amazing entertainment experience right in your own home.

The bare bone basics home theater system would include such components as a surround sound speaker system, an amplifier that amps up those speakers, a DVD player to play the latest greatest movies that have come out in that format and then a television large enough that you can enjoy widescreen formatted movies. Why widescreen? Well, that’s the format they use in the real theater.

Beyond those basic parts, a person could invest in theater style seating or lounge seating arranged to specifically take advantage of the view of the television and the sound at the same time. This seating can be anywhere from your typical recliner arranged in the perfect spot to a series of recliners, or if a person has the funds they could actually go with the top of the line theater style seating components.

If you want to boost things up another level, instead of getting just any regular old television you could go with the latest greatest LCD models on the market. Of course, you need to determine size. A good home theater system will have a television that is comfortable to view and allows for enjoyment rather than a craning of the neck or squinting of the eyes. So, size of television is entirely dependent on two things: your budget and the size of the room you intend on turning into a home theater.

Or you could step up from even the LCD to a projector system. These are getting into the higher end home theater system components and there are reasons for that. They combine a nice, large viewing area with the view of a theater. In some cases, it’s exactly like sitting in the actual theater watching the movie.

Another advancement lately is Blu-Ray. It’s unclear as of yet how long before Blu-Ray overtakes DVD players but eventually they will so you could also add a Blu-Ray capable player to your system as well. You could even take it a step back into nostalgia and make sure you have a VHS player too. Sometimes, they bring back great memories.

Whether you’ve got the big bucks, or the credit, or if you’re just looking to get your first set of components there are the basics and then there are the ‘more than the basics.’ Whichever you choose should fit your budget and the space available as there’s no sense in having a home theater system but nowhere to put it.
